US medical practices are hiring medical scribes through RemoteVetted. You'll document patient visits in real time, listening to providers and entering notes into the EHR system so doctors can focus on patient care. This detail-oriented work directly supports clinical teams, and you'll gain deep familiarity with healthcare workflows and medical terminology. What you'll do
- Document patient encounters in the EHR in real time during clinical visits
- Create accurate, concise visit notes including history, physical exam findings, and assessment/plan
- Transcribe provider dictation and verbal information into structured clinical documentation
- Review notes for completeness and clarity before provider sign-off
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- Manage time pressure during busy clinic schedules with multiple providers
- Clarify medical terms and documentation requirements with providers as needed
What you need
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation
- Strong medical terminology knowledge or demonstrated ability to learn quickly
- B2+ English level (fluent listening and written comprehension)
- Typing speed of at least 50–60 words per minute with high accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and document while listening actively in real time
- Healthcare experience preferred (medical assistant, nursing, or clinical background)
Nice to have
- Prior medical scribe or EHR documentation experience
- Familiarity with specific EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Athena, or similar)
- Knowledge of medical coding basics or diagnostic coding
- CPR certification or healthcare credential
