What you'll do
- Answer patient calls and direct them to the right department or provider
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments using the clinic's system
- Send appointment confirmations via phone, email, or text
- Update and maintain patient information in the electronic health records system
- Greet and check in patients during virtual or in-person visits when needed
- Handle routine inquiries about hours, services, insurance, and policies
- Follow HIPAA and patient privacy guidelines at all times
What you need
- Fluent English (C1 level) with clear communication skills for phone interactions
- Experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare support role
- Comfortable using scheduling software, email, and electronic health record systems
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace for remote work
- Monday to Friday availability during US business hours (typically 8am–5pm US time zones)
Nice to have
- Experience with specific EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athena
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish or Portuguese)
- Knowledge of medical insurance and billing basics
- Experience handling difficult calls with patience and professionalism
