US medical practices are hiring a medical billing specialist through RemoteVetted. You'll process insurance claims, post payments, and manage claim denials to keep revenue flowing. This is detail-oriented work where accuracy matters: small errors ripple through practice finances, and solving billing problems directly helps doctors focus on patients. What you'll do
- Process and submit insurance claims to payers
- Post payments received from insurance companies and patients to patient accounts
- Research and resolve claim denials, working with providers to resubmit when needed
- Follow up on unpaid claims and aging accounts
- Verify patient insurance information and eligibility before service
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
- Track claim status and provide reports to management
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients about billing questions
What you need
- Medical billing experience (at least 1 year)
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards
- Proficiency with medical billing software and practice management systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- B2+ English level (fluent reading, writing, and speaking)
Nice to have
- Experience with specific billing software like Medidata, Athena, or eClinicalWorks
- Familiarity with insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Experience in a specific medical specialty (dental, chiropractic, mental health, etc.)
- Certified medical billing professional (AAPC or AHIMA)
